KATARINA CAME TO OUR CLASS TODAY as a ‘FUTURIST‘
AND
INSTRUCTOR FOR LLMs (Large Language Models) LIKE ChatGPt.

Julio Cartagena was today’s class host, welcoming Katarina outside the classroom to Central High School and our Social Studies 2.0 – Life Skills class. Julio exchanged business cards with Katarina. Coincidentally, Julio’s career aspiration is Computer Science.

Sangkhim Dong welcomes Katarina to the class with confident eye contact, a firm handshake and a welcome smile and greeting. Sangkim’s career aspiration is Pediatrics and later asked Katarina during the Q&A session ‘how Artificial Intelligence would impact Pediatric medicine‘.

Luis Tornez greets Katarina to open the class with confident eye contact, a firm handshake and a welcoming greeting. Luis’s career aspiration is anesthesiology and he too wants to know Katarina’s prediction on ‘how Artificial Intelligence will affect anesthesiology’. Future Banker, Junior Brownell, waits patiently after Luis to welcome Katarina with his welcoming smile, exemplary eye contact, and his question about Artificial Intelligence’s impact on banking and finance .

Katarina shares her first impressions of the Social Studies 2.0 – Life Skills class students – “very impressive first impressions. You all appeared confident and very friendly with your greetings; you really made me feel welcomed, thank you. You also appeared to be very confident when you welcomed me – standing erect, not slouching. You all had good eye contact and a firm handshake. If I could offer one recommendation it would be speak a bit louder. This doesn’t mean ‘yell’; I mean more forcefully“. Katarina acknowledged she is an immigrant to America from the European country of SLOVAKIA. She has also lived in the European countries of Hungary and Ireland. She also has lived in the city of San Francisco, California before moving to Rhode Island.

Katarina also shared her vision of the FUTURE as technology continues to change people’s lives and careers. “All jobs will be affected by technology especially Artificial Intelligence (AI). Some jobs will be eliminated. However, those people who are familiar with AI and how it improves the efficiency and service it provides companies and their customers, the more valuable you will become in your career. More valuable means job security and higher pay! We all need to be familiar with technology. Continue to be curious about technology; try to anticipate how technology could affect the job you’re interested in. For instance, if you’re interested in radiology, do research during the week on ChatGPT about how AI could affect radiology. If you want to be an electrician, do your research on how AI and Tesla’s Optimus Humanoids could affect your Electrician business. Use AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Khan Academy’s Khanmigo to answer your technology questions!”

Gio Aguilar, an aspiring Aerospace Engineer, raises his hand to ask Katarina a question. Katarina suggested Gio explore other fields of Engineering like Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering. “You may find another field of engineering more interesting and fulfilling after your research. And, it’s always wise to have a PLAN B“.

Katarina introduced one of the most commonly used ChatBots in business and industry, ChatGPT. When Julio asked the question ‘what is a good computer science school in New England that I could consider”, Katarina responded “LET’S ASK CHATGPT! You can do this when you get home from school. It’s the perfect time to do research on your career questions.”

Katarina emphasized the importance of “THE PROMPT” with chatbots and showed students the value of being specific with the question / PROMPT in the chatbot.

Several students chose to follow up with Katarina during the NETWORKING session of today’s class. Julio Cartagena, Songkhim Dong, Jacob Henderson, and Junior Brownell wait their turn to NETWORK with Katarina. More impressively, some students followed up with an email to Katarina thanking her for the time she took out of her busy workday to visit our class to share her personal story and her vision of the FUTURE. “You have an impressive group of students, Mr Cronin.” I agree.
